Based on the play “Romeo and Juliet” written by William Shakespeare, There are several thoughts in my mind by its tragedy and romance.
“Romeo and Juliet” is basically about two young star-crossed lovers whose deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families. The play begins with a feud between two families; the Montague’s, and the Capulet’s. Romeo meets one of his cousins and they start talking and Romeo says that he is in love with a woman named “Rosaline” who does not love him back. His cousin tells him to forget this, but he does not listen. Later, Romeo’s Cousin tells him to attend a feast held by the Capulet’s. Romeo agrees and upon arrival, he sees a woman named “Juliet” and he experience love at first sight. This however, shows me that Shakespeare easily falls in love by portraying that in his character, which Romeo sickness in love to Rosaline easily shifts to Juliet’s love at first sight.
Shakespeare has Romeo overhear Juliet's soliloquy in the later balcony scene by bringing Romeo into the scene to eavesdrop, after hearing that, Romeo proposed to Juliet and again Shakespeare breaks from the normal sequence of courtship. Both of Romeo and Juliet had just met and to think they get married as soon as possible is out of norm and it’s probably because they are young and didn’t have to think longer than the adult. From what I believed, Romeo and Juliet’s act from their own decision is self-centred mainly because they wanted the happiness by themselves first before reconciling their family’s feuding.
I would not recommend this story to any emotional reader because this plays have too many things that could make anyone cry and I would not recommend this to anyone who doesn’t like a very tragic ending.
