I WROTE A CLICHE NOVEL ;)

The sun spread its golden rays of crimson and gold. The tall coconut palm trees danced gracefully to the rhythm of the sea breeze. The sandy beach, lapped by lapis lazuli blue sea, was a sight for one’s eyes. We sat by the edge of the water, holding hands while the waves ran towards us and everything felt right. It felt just right. My life journey wouldn’t be completed if it weren’t for him.

I still remember the day he proposed, asking me to marry him. It was here, in this magical place, I’d like to call. We were running in the water as he tried to catch me and when he did, we stumbled. My eyes lit up only to see his face right in front of me. His sapphire eyes were mesmerizing.
“Will you marry me?” he asked out of the blue.

We sat side by side after that, sorting things out. He was my best friend and I love him. I do. Not this kind of love.  But there’s something in his eyes right now made me wanted to say ‘I do’. I always thought relationship was nothing but a waste of time. He told me that he always had a crush on me and I laughed so hard. I’d never had boyfriend before then suddenly someone wanted to marry me? That’s absurd. A year later, we got married in a white-veil occasion in this place, our magical place, I would like to say.

A happy marriage we have but it didn’t last long. he is a soldier and I am a teacher. By our fifth anniversary, he got a call for addition army to help drive out the outlaws. that night, he kissed me goodbye, as if he knew he wouldn’t come back home and That night, I saw the first tears piling in his eyes. he tried to hide it but failed miserably.

After two months I haven’t heard any news from him, I have the urge to call his base unit. As I was about to get to the phone, it was already ringing. So I picked it up and held it to my ears. It’s a man’s voice butb I couldn’t recognized who. Turns out, he was from the base unit of 4401, the same base unit as my husband. His voice shook as he spoke and I went weak at the knees on hearing the news. Rooted to the ground, color drained from my face. I was dumbfounded. The news of his missing almost choked me, he was probably caught by the outlaws or missing in field. I felt my world was going to pieces. The skies open and blinding sheets of rain fell, the same time my tears started to stream down my face.
